Recent Swinburne graduate of Communication Design (Honours) and Intern at The Brownbill Effect
"I chose to study Communication Design Honours as I wanted to push myself at university and my parents have worked really hard to get me and my siblings a good education; I don’t want to let them down! I also chose Honours as it gives students the opportunity to complete industry placement and work with real clients."

EXTRAordinary: Photography for Mercy Health
"Over the past year, countries and communities around the world have been challenged in unprecedented ways by the coronavirus pandemic. Mercy Health have experienced firsthand the relentless pace and pressure on our health and aged care services and the enormous burden shouldered by extraordinary people doing their job in the most exacting circumstances. These images shine a light on the myriad of decisions and interactions that go on behind the scenes every day. They challenge the idea of the ordinary day or the ordinary person."

Rebranding Nuplas for Global Exposure
"One afternoon, Ben (the owner of Nuplas), was asked by a friend if his injection moulding business could create plastic beehives. He’d made countless other products, so figured he’d give it a go! A few hundred beehives later, a new business opportunity blossomed. Not long after Ben’s new business epiphany, we deployed our business strategy and rebranding skills. The objective was to restructure and rebrand Nuplas with a primary focus on branching out into international markets and new opportunities. The final outcome is a completely revitalised brand, coupled with a clear message and tone of voice and a unique position. Nuplas is now ready to take on the world by promoting ‘better beekeeping’."
Sue Stubbs | Photographer
Sue Stubbs is an Australian photographer whose work is steeped in emotion, a deeply felt expression of raw humanity that amplifies and celebrates the nuances of life. Her approach to photography is anthropological. Just as she drills down to the essence of an individual or setting, Sue cuts to the core of a brief and creates vivid imagery that demands attention. Her work is intoxicatingly layered and sensual, a deftly crafted balance of light, colour and form.

"I love all things photographic. I’ve refined my skills over the past several years across a range of photography and videography genres. This experience includes portrait, aerial, event, landscape, travel and product photography. Growing up in Melbourne, I then spent most of my 20s based in London and travelling extensively throughout the world. My enthusiasm for photography was forged during this time. I have enjoyed working in and around a range of industries, including retail, financial, hospitality and sport. This has given me well-rounded experiences and skills, which I bring with me on my photography journey."

What is ‘being transparent'?
I’ve heard the statement, 'I’m just being transparent’ a little too often lately. It is the rationale people are trotting out when the truth is, they’re letting someone down. Yes, you can bail on a commitment if you’ve decided that’s how you want to operate in life. Just don’t call it ‘being transparent'. When you are genuinely transparent, you don’t hide anything and it’s something you practise upfront, not after the fact. Being transparent is a powerful thing as it means you can
trust yourself and be trusted by others. Going back on an agreement destroys trust and burns bridges. People have long memories. Pretending you were being ‘transparent’ won’t protect your reputation in the long run.
