Sal and Felix Managing Director at Photography Studies College“I take great pride in knowing that, with the highly engaged and professional governance team and staff I have working with me at PSC, we have achieved the status of being the only specialised photography institution in Australia. I am also proud of the diverse range of programs we have created that cater for aspiring photographers across the spectrum, from the raw beginner through to the experienced professional looking to push their visual and creative boundaries as far as they can go. I remember the day I read photography critic Sean O’Hagan’s 2012 article in the Guardian – 'Photography: an ever-evolving art form'. He said, and I quote: “Whatever upheavals it has witnessed, photography has endured. It continues to do so, even as we drown in a sea of uploaded images whose sheer quantity mediates against their meaning. Photography, in more ways than one, thrives on a crisis. The instant endures.” It was one of those ‘aha’ moments. Photography is always on the edge of a crisis and it just keeps on keeping on. I just love that!” Residential Architecture Series for Wolf ArchitectsSophie Tomaras's latest photo assignment saw her working with her long-standing client Wolf Architects. "It was a lot of fun. I have seen so many gorgeous homes and commercial projects over a number of years, but I can't say I've seen a project like this before." The project is a stand-alone two-story building that includes a showroom and workshop for several exotic cars. The brief was to capture the external architectural lines, space, and finishes throughout the building, including concrete, corten steel and timbers. Geez Josh...Check out this great little spoof ad that Adrian Elton put together in honour of Josh Frydenberg's calculator woes. It follows on from his Clive Palmer spoof from last year. "So now that we've found out that, hey-presto, there's $60 bill more in the kitty than was needed - surely it'd only take a few taps of the ol' el-cheapo Officeworks calculator - and those mountains of moolah could be re-directed in full, or in part, to help the amazing people that keep our souls inspired, and our tummies full." Little Moments for Le Pine FuneralsHere’s a lovely job that Kalliroy Edlin worked on with creative agency Grindstone and director Damien Plemming for Le Pine Funerals. "When I was younger I never dreamed that my job would entail a fun day out exploring cool vintage homes for the perfect location. But producing and propping this campaign was hectic and a lot of fun. I managed everything from the crew, casting and locations, to on-air approvals and dispatch. The 3-day shoot saw us travel all around Melbourne to find the right authentic homes and produce a lovely Hero TVC as well as five individual Print concepts." Stef King wanted to create a set of images that influenced her in some way to the shape, colour, timeless beauty and textures found in flowers. BLUE RED New Deodorising Printable Film – AirpurityBall & Doggett are excited to announce the arrival of Airpurity, an anti-bacterial and deodorising printable film that can be applied to walls and takes odours out of the air. Airpurity is an eco-friendly material that is applied with new technologies for deodorization and air purification. It is catalysed by germs and odour factors that cause pathogenic bacteria and odours in the air. It inhibits germs and removes all odours, including sweat smell, foot smell, and formaldehyde from carcinogens. Airpurity absorbs and eliminates odorous molecules simultaneously. The odorous molecules are absorbed into the polymer structure subtracts by physicochemical interaction and are decomposed by reactive chemical with oxidation. Airpurity perfectly aligns to the hygiene measures that we have all recently adopted world-wide. It reduces the risk of germs spreading and provides us with an opportunity to live healthier lives. Airpurity is the ideal solution for a vast array of applications including wall coverings or prints inside living areas, hospitals, schools, childcare centres, offices, restrooms and commercial areas’. – Leigh Hooper, National Manager Display & Visual. Airpurity has a removable and repositionable adhesive and is suitable to print across UV, Eco-Solvent, Solvent and Latex technologies. "Before I became a photographer, I was a musician. I very much enjoyed playing regularly in various venues so I guess, I was always a creative at heart. I migrated to Australia with my family in 1993 from Argentina. In mid-2002, I returned to Argentina for the first time and on this occasion, a friend gave me a large number of 35mm rolls of film and I already had a SLR camera which I still have today. It was then that I discovered the enjoyment of freely experimenting and expressing myself with photography and being able to see the world in a way that I had never seen before. It was also at this moment that I learned photography was what I wanted to pursue. I have been a photographer for more than13 years and my interest’s span over a wide range of subject matter such as sport, music, corporate events and personal projects. I thrive on providing a unique view of events that move and inspire people by creating ordinary moments into extraordinary moments and at the heart of my work is the drive and passion to provide my valued clients with images that transcend and inspire."
