Photographer & Filmmaker“A friend who was one of my early life-mentors was the Australian middle-distance runner John Landy. I have vivid memories of Landy telling me in my youth that the main reason that allowed him to conquer the world was simply the fact that he ran more miles in training than his opponents. Photography is very similar, the more you train (practice) the easier it is to achieve success. I have found over the decades that the majority of photographers take the easy path, while those that are successful have always dug-deep and taken the hard road. Very few if any have been gifted, they have all faced-up to the mountain and conquered it. An understanding and appreciation for history is a vital component. To move forward, an individual must grasp the past, study the hardships of the road already travelled and then the way forward will become much easier.” Recent work from our CreativesMordialloc Traders AssociationToni Newman is known in the advertising industry as a Stills & Motion Producer, Casting Consultant, Location Scout & Stylist and has worked with many agencies and brands around the world over her 25+ year career. What you may not know is that over 3 years ago she set up another business called The Styling Business that would run concurrently to her advertising production company Toni + Co Productions. The Styling Business was started to help private clients with their residential & commercial design, renovation and styling projects and assist people with their personal styling & wardrobe edits. She has expanded even further to include Event Production; theming, producing and hosting fashion parades and events for Myer and other fun Clients. Toni has now merged both businesses and re-branded under the one banner of ‘Toni + Co’ (website coming soon!). Toni recently produced a social media campaign consisting of nine different films for the Mordialloc Traders Association which saw her working on the creative with another of The Brownbill Effects members, Dominic Hook. She cast real people – mostly locals, to appear in the videos, organised the location and Child Employment Permits, styled the campaign and put together a very detailed schedule & call sheet for the epic two-day shoot. Dominic directed, filmed and edited the campaign and it looks amazing. To watch one of the nine videos that were produced, click here. Aussie Broadband – #CantBeatFeebackEarlier this year, Filmtime were written up in B&T for their work with Aussie Broadband. A snippet from the article below. "Peter Hynes, Creative Director at Filmtime, said: 'This spot looks to leverage the amazing and authentic feedback Aussie Broadband receives regularly from its customers. The series builds on the message that there are other, closer to home options, when it comes to who you have as an ISP'." To read the full article, click here. Updated Creative Directory ProfileThe Tricycle Collective have updated their Creative Directory profile with some new work and details. Featured above is their work with DAF in February. Our responsibilities included ideation of the event format and theming, floor planning and set building, video and presentation creation, and event and stage management. The evening was the highlight in the week of DAF’s Dealer and customer events." More work from them will be coming out on socials soon. In the meantime, check out their profile via the button below. New to the Creative DirectoryStarting out in London, I've had the great fortune to work on projects in 20 different countries around the world. I started in 2010 preparing equipment for commercial shoots and went on to freelancing as a digital assistant for various photographers working globally. As my experience grew, so did my taste for finding solutions to complex technical challenges and I took that experience and brought it to Retouching studios in London and Amsterdam where my skills developed. I worked with projects for brands such as Adidas, Corona, Google, Playstation. 3D software quickly became part of my toolset and I have worked on solutions for campaigns for brands including Qatar Airways, Playstation, and Jonny Walker. I’m not an agency or a studio. I’m also not a coriander eater, kombucha drinker, country music fan, Fortnite player, morning person, short shower taker, runner, or Magic Eye doer.
