September 2020 Newsletter
No images? Click here Hi there, "Be FEARLESS", is one of the many quotes I have gleaned from the irrepressible Jack Room in this months Q&A. And to continue on that theme, all of our creatives are fearless in the pursuit of creativity when it comes to their work. Enjoy viewing a selection of talent you can find on the creative directory from a TVC currently on air, through to stills photography, retouching, design, awards and spaces for hire. I am boundless in my pursuit to network and this months newsletter is a testament to that. Read on ... Sally and Felix Creative Director “Sir Johan Hegarty, one of the world’s most famous Advertising creatives wrote, "Creativity isn’t an Occupation it’s a Preoccupation. It invents, perfects and defines our world. It explains and entertains us". To stay relevant as an Advertising Creative you have to make ‘creativity’ your preoccupation, you need to live it. Visit Galleries, Theatres, Live Venues, increasingly searching out the obscure, the different. This way you will feed your creative being. Be FEARLESS. More than ever to stay relevant and get you Ideas bought by the Agency sceptics and the Client cynics, you must sell your Ideas with confidence and fearless conviction. Make them believe that Creativity should Encourage, Enthuse, Engage and Entertain.” Tracey Rowe | TVC DirectorMoccona – Inspire Your MomentDirected by the fabulous Tracey Rowe, Moccona's latest commercial captures the essence of the Moccona brand as it highlights the playful interaction between an artist and her imagination, taking flight in the form of an illustrated, animated swallow. The artist embraces the moment and directs the swallow to drape a flowering vine around a clean Moccona jar. The commercial introduces the new limited edition range of Moccona collectable jars in a fresh interpretation of the brands look. Sophisticated and European with soft creamy white tones, the new Moccona brand compliments it’s red and gold accents to create the Moccona ‘limited edition’ product designs. Agency - The Edge Alice Shaw | Graphic DesignerSwisse Me PackagingAlice Shaw's latest Swisse work – illustrating and designing the packaging for the new Swisse Me range of protein products. "Swisse Me wanted to evolve the fun, bright and bold illustration style that they had used on their existing products, but this time highlight the ingredients and flavours. Each pack features fun, abstract and minimalist illustrations of the key ingredients; from nuts and berries to mushrooms and cinnamon quills. The Swisse Me Protein range spans four protein ball flavours and four vegan protein powder varieties (in both 600g bags and single-serve sachets)." Creative Agency – Noisy Beast Trudy Kelder | PhotographerNew Website!"It has been an interesting time to reflect on what’s important personally and professionally. I have had the exciting opportunity to refresh and rebrand my business. A business name change is always risky but I feel I have moved to a look and style which really suits who I am. My photographic journey has evolved during the years with a special focus on sustainable, reusable and ethical products and services. I guess you could say I’m environmentally aware and I am thankful my clientele vary greatly from food and wine, produce, homewares, architecture and corporate portraiture. I have a background in advertising, which gives me the added advantage of understanding clients needs, working with creative teams and understanding complex briefs. I have a ‘bring it on’ attitude - I love a challenge and aim to produce images over and above that is asked of me." Visit Trudy Kelder's new website via the Creative Directory below. Paul Gawman | CGI ArtistLook DeeperPaul Gawman digitally modelled and rendered this image for a print and digital awareness campaign targeting health care practitioners, aiming to educate them about the plight of living with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH). This is a rare and progressive disorder of the heart. It is relatively difficult to identify and often goes undetected because the symptoms can suggest other more-common illnesses. Sadly, PAH becomes fatal without treatment or complete lung transplantation. A Modern Phantasm – Longing for LikesAbove are a couple of images from Scott McAulay's latest photo series exploring how the 'ideal self' we project online is merely an illusion. "Every day we post images of our ‘perfect’ lives. Projecting little vignettes of our ideal selves. We pretend to others (and ourselves) that we’re wealthier, busier, happier, slimmer, younger, older, more successful, more popular, more beautiful, more, more, more and in my case less hairy… and it’s all bullshit! Zoom out a bit and it's all just smoke and mirrors, our lives are tiring, chaotic, messy, sometimes boring and often lonely. All of our insecurities are veiled. We don’t know how to be alone, how to enjoy the silence or our own company! Instead, through our little envy amplification device, our narrative is that we’re in bloody Ibiza." Junior Massive | Design AgencySnoSan – Brand & Identity DesignJunior Massive have been working closely with SnoSan as they repositioned their brand. "When the COVID-19 pandemic hit America in March 2020 Seth Johnson Founder of J&L Distilling Co in Boulder decided to pivot from making award-winning spirits to making hand sanitizer. He knew he was uniquely poised to transition with his science background and column still perfect for making high-quality ethyl-alcohol sanitizer. SnoSan not only meets all FDA and World Health Organization requirements but has an efficacy that makes it hospital grade. The SnoSan brand is adapting as fast as the pandemic is changing our lives, but one thing is for sure, offering well priced American-made sanitizer with the highest efficacy is the number one goal." Witchery – Vintage ReduxThe Ripe Studios team worked with Witchery on ‘Vintage Redux’, a 70’s vibe shoot giving iconic trends a style revival. The incomparable Charlee Fraser brought her nonchalant beauty while the vintage VW Karmann Ghia in the background added to the 70’s nostalgia.
