The global launch of Series 1 will be launched on the 25th of July. The premise, 'In a world where video games, speed-running & esports are everything, a cyborg girl named Tari finds herself in the crosshairs of world-class Meta Runners as she discovers she has the uncanny ability to warp into video games.' Check out the trailer here! Marcus Byrne | RetoucherAdManWorking at Thinkerbell, Marcus and team were briefed by AdNews to tackle the diversity issue in the advertising industry. There are currently too many white blokes holding the relatively few leadership positions in Australia. The cover creative was largely art director Elsa Caruso’s idea. Adrian Lander shot the image of a toy action man figure and Marcus Byrne tackled the retouching. It’s meant to be an objective commentary on the shifting sands of the industry as we strive towards diversity. The ‘excess stock’ sticker is particularly important as it communicates that the reason male leaders are going cheap. It isn’t that they are not as good as female leaders, it’s just that there are relatively still too many of them. They found a little toy man, shot him and Marcus photoshopped the packaging and stickers, the new clothes, all the accessories, laptop, phone, whisky, and paper and also created the type. The dark lighting is meant to communicate a toyshop after-hours – the little sad guy on the shelf. Momento Pro | Bookbinders100th Award for Print Excellence"When we say we produce world-class print quality we mean it! Last week we won the US Premier Print Art Books (4 or more colours) Award for the second time. This was also our 100th award for print excellence since 2008. Many thanks to Peter Eastway and his epic book - Middlehurst | Middle Earth - for making us look so good. We agree with the judges that this A2 size, 9 colour inkjet print on Cotton Rag looks magnificent." Read more about it here. Image Workshop | PhotographerWet plate wins Silver in ParisImage Workshop photographer Brence Coghill received a Silver Award at the PX3 Paris Photography Prize – one of the biggest juried prizes in Europe with over 5,700 entries from 98 countries. Brence has spent 18 months researching and experimenting with 1800s-era wet plate collodion photography, using a large format wooden camera and chemistry recipes he mixes himself. Each shot is a one-off made on a metal plate hand-coated in silver nitrate. His unique analogue photograph of musician Rich Webb was “an incredible, unplanned synchronicity,” he says. “I approached Rich about shooting a wet plate portrait, and he mentioned his forthcoming single needed cover art. The song is all about nostalgia for the past – so an old-fashioned handmade ‘tintype’ photo was the perfect thing for the cover!” See more of Brence’s stunning wet plate portraits at https://www.imageworkshop.com/wetplate Dominic Hook | Videographer/PhotographerSRAM Australia & Liv Cycling Australia"This video was a fun one to make. I'm a keen action sports guy and love any chance I get to work with people & bikes. This project, which partnered with Liv Cycling Australia & Sram Australia, was a perfect mix as I got to work with industry professionals in the bike tech/servicing world, as well as women from bike shops across the country, wanting to hone their skills on the tools to take back to their respective bike shops. The 4-day intensive bike building workshop I covered was an amazing learning experience for the girls tackling the bike build, as well as myself behind the camera and in the edit suite. I was able to take on board some great bike maintenance knowledge while delivering a product that was relevant and matched the original brief I was given.” ![]() Alice Shaw | Graphic Designer"Throughout the years, I’ve worked directly with clients and collaborated within agency walls. I work with purpose. I am adaptable and have never limited myself with a “style” that I work within. I love illustrating. Typography and layouts are an ingrained passion of mine. The way the world interacts with design intrigues me. I enjoy being part of a creative team, but I am also self-sufficient and work happily under my own steam. I approach, I consider, I attempt, I converse, and I refine."
